The press is going crazy over the latest Bush/Kerry babble.
Kerry: “Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
Bush: “The members of the United States military are plenty smart and they are plenty brave, and the senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology.”
Kerry: It was “a botched joke about the president and the president’s people, not about the troops.”
This isn’t policy discussion. This isn’t debate. It only serves to remind me why I didn’t vote for either of these bozos in 2004. Neither of them deserved it then, and they aren’t changing any minds now.
I hold the press responsible in this as well. We’re 6 days until mid-term elections, and the press is writing about Bush and Kerry demanding apologies from each other. When the press gives crap like this attention, they are blowing oxygen into a brushfire. They should ignore it.
