{"id":118,"date":"2006-12-16T19:25:01","date_gmt":"2006-12-16T23:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/archives\/118"},"modified":"2006-12-16T19:25:01","modified_gmt":"2006-12-16T23:25:01","slug":"if-you-really-absolutely-totally-need-something-screwed-up-ask-the-mbta-to-do-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/2006\/12\/if-you-really-absolutely-totally-need-something-screwed-up-ask-the-mbta-to-do-it\/","title":{"rendered":"If You Really, Absolutely, Totally NEED Something Screwed Up, Ask the MBTA to Do It"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I often marvel at how screwed up the T is.\u00c2\u00a0 From purchased trains of the wrong size, to flooding, to &#8220;switch problems,&#8221; to handicapped turnstiles at stations with no elevators, they always find a way to impress me.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday&#8217;s Globe: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/articles\/2006\/12\/15\/revamped_t_website_debuts_new_features\/\">A $466,000 revamp of the MBTA website debuts this morning<\/a> . . .&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mbta.com\/\">MBTA.com<\/a>: &#8220;The MBTA apologizes for the slow response-time [sic] users experienced on our new website.\u00c2\u00a0 We are currently doing everything we can to improve performance, and the new site will be re-released soon.\u00c2\u00a0 In order to give customers the content needed, we are offering our former site while we work out the problems. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Back to the Globe: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rdvo.com\/\">RDVO<\/a>, a small Web design firm in Somerville, revamped the site while helping upgrade the MBTA&#8217;s Web servers, which they said are now four times faster.
