{"id":598,"date":"2009-09-23T21:31:00","date_gmt":"2009-09-24T01:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/?p=598"},"modified":"2009-09-23T21:31:00","modified_gmt":"2009-09-24T01:31:00","slug":"dog-looking-for-a-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/2009\/09\/dog-looking-for-a-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog Looking For A Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_1879.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-600\" title=\"IMG_1879\" src=\"https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_1879-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1879\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_1879-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_1879-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dandunn.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_1879.JPG 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>For the last four months I&#8217;ve been fostering a very nice dog named Bailey. \u00c2\u00a0Bailey&#8217;s owner died suddenly this spring; a work colleague was looking for a home for Bailey and I volunteered on a temporary basis. \u00c2\u00a0If she ends up at a home close to Arlington, she comes with free dog sitting services. \u00c2\u00a0I like her and will enjoy having her visit while you go away for the weekend or on vacation or even just overnight. \u00c2\u00a0I just can&#8217;t commit to taking care of her full time.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey is 10 years old. \u00c2\u00a0She&#8217;s mostly German Shepherd, but there&#8217;s something else there too. \u00c2\u00a0She&#8217;s very friendly with people and children. \u00c2\u00a0She&#8217;s not great with other dogs; she thinks that she&#8217;s the alpha dog. \u00c2\u00a0She does fine with other submissive dogs. \u00c2\u00a0She&#8217;s not good with cats, either &#8211; she thinks they are fun to chase.<\/p>\n<p>As an older dog she&#8217;s content to sleep for much of the day. \u00c2\u00a0I let her out in the morning and feed her. \u00c2\u00a0A dog walker takes her for a stroll midday. \u00c2\u00a0I come home in the evening and either walk her or let her out, and feed her again. \u00c2\u00a0On weekends she goes on daytrips with me, or just stays at home while I&#8217;m getting work done.<\/p>\n<p>She has excellent house training and has never once had an accident in my house.
